I am supposed to prove the quadratic formula works by showing that (-b+sqrt. b^2-4ac)/2a and (-b-sqrt. b^2-4ac)/2a are solutions to ax^2+bx+c=0.
How would I do something like that? I have no idea how I would solve it if I were to plug it in or something.
